Bees, Bees and more Bees!
We have been animating Bees, I've uploaded what we've done so far below. Im not too happy with how all the Bees turn at about the same time but i dont know After Effects well enough yet to change that.
Well enjoy and let me know what you think.
Eboy - Sprite
Too early today but oh well here goes :)
We have been working on our Sprites again and we got told about an original sprite type website called Eboy. www.eboy.com
It was made before Habbo Hotel and is very good. I especially like how they make the images and when refering to a city bringing all the most famous parts and bringing them together. Such as in the image below of London. See how many famous things you can spot. I also love the little funny captions such as the octopus. HE HE

100 GREATEST CARTOONS
From Mickey Mouse to Marge Simpson, Top Cat to Toy Story and Bugs Bunny to Belleville Rendez-Vous a programme recently on Channel 4 charted the 100 Greatest Cartoons of all time, as voted for by the public! Whether you grew up on a diet of Tom & Jerry and Porky Pig or modern classics like South Park, The Simpsons and King of the Hill, everyone has their favourite cartoon and characters.
They covered everything from Popeye to cult Japanese Anime in what will be a comprehensive history of over a century of animation, as well as a poll to find out the nation's favourite cartoon of all time. Funny, nostalgic, heart-warming and occasionally down right rude, the 100 Greatest Cartoons was the ultimate tribute to the 'thwock' sound effect, to running in the air but not going anywhere, to being a mild mannered janitor by day but kung fu super hero at night, and of course to saying 'D'oh' every time you mess up.
Below are the results of the Top 100 and I watched for quite a few hours to get this list! It was a good watch though :)

DreamWorks Writes Down Flushed
Flushed Away, the computer-animated feature hasn’t been performing as well as some of DreamWorks Animation’s previous releases, the studio has officially acknowledged that it its likely to take a write-down on the film based on domestic box office results for the third collaboration with Aardman Animations. The announcement was made as DreamWorks Animation filed a shelf registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the follow-on secondary offering $330 million of shares of Class A common stock.
DreamWorks SKG’s publicly traded animation unit invested approximately $142.9 into Flushed Away, which has earned a little more than $41 million in North America since opening on Nov. 3. The film has been released in several small foreign theatrical markets and is scheduled to bow in France on Nov. 29 and in the U.K. on Dec. 1 before rolling out in other foreign markets. The flick stands to do its best business in the U.K., where the popularity of Aardman and the film’s largely British voice cast should add up to boffo box office.
Foreign box office proved a saving grace for DreamWorks’ and Aardman’s Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Released last October, the clay-animated comedy grossed just north of $56 million in the U.S. but raked in more than $136 million overseas, bringing its worldwide take to $192.4 million.
Since DreamWorks Animation is still waiting to see how Flushed will perform overseas, the studio is currently unable to predict the ultimate amount of the third-quarter write-down. Other factors include eventual home video sales and revenues related to worldwide television distribution.
The Happy Feet - New Animated Film
The Happy Feet features Elijah Wood from the Lord of the Rings trilogy as the voice of Mumble, a young penguin born into a nation of singing Emperor penguins where each needs a heart song to attract a soul mate. Since Mumble is cursed with being the worst singer in the world, he learns to rely on his tap dancing skills to catch the eye of a special young lady. Directed by George Miller, whose credits include the Babe and Mad Max films, Happy Feet is an animated musical comedy that also stars the voices of Brittany Murphy (King of the Hill) Hugh Jackman (Flushed Away/Xmen), Nicole Kidman (His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass/Moulan Rouge), Robin Williams (Robots) and Hugo Weaving (The Matrix trilogy/Lord of the Rings), among others. The movie opens to a lot of positive reviews, most praising the film for its stunning visuals and soulful music.

Digit
The Digit London site is www.digitlondon.com
For example the Digital Aquarium. It was an interactive experience using 150 Motorola handsets suspended from the roof of a tank exhibition space outside the Institute of Contemporary Art.
On the outside of the tank was a number that consumers were invited to call in order to interact with the installation. The tank was programmed such that when the number was called it set off a chain reaction of the handsets calling each other, lighting up and ringing in a staggered formation, giving the effect of a swimming school of fish.
Another example is Motoglyph.
Digit were approached by Motorola to create an interactive experience that highlighted their commitment to music and youth culture.
By fusing cutting edge technology and simple tools they created a digital graffiti wall on which users could Âspray their own unique signature or drawing. Whilst creating a ÂsignatureMotoglyphlyph also simultaneously generated a soundscape. Both the soundtrack and the image could be sent to the users mobiles to be used as wallpaper and ring tone. The motoglyph won a lion at Cannes, was commissioned to be part of a major contemporary design exhibition at the Pompidou Centre in Paris and has toured the world from Japan to Argentina.
Golan Levin - messa di voce
It was really interesting seeing how the technology could register where they are and what there doing to reacted to it visually. I especically liked the one with all the balls. There is a website about it if your interested - www.tmema.org/messa/messa.html
Sprite Idea
If I made a background, which is the floor plan for an exhibition show such as the Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC www.motorcycleshow.co.uk
Then as your Sprite walks up to a bike or stand a picture of the bike pops up, along with information about it. Like a virtual guide of the show, Big Companies such as Honda and Yamaha, I believe would pay for there products to be on the virtual tour!!!
Habbo Hotel (Sprite Work)
In the Habbo Hotel world you can actually buy furniture and credits to play games and do competitions so it also includes real money. Any way check it out and you will see what I mean.
The UK website is www.habbohotel.co.uk
John Lasseter
John Lasseter is one of my idols :D He is Vice President of Pixar and has made many animated films.
He is actually ranked No.1 in Premiere's 2004 annual Power 100 list with Pixar CEO Steve Jobs. They had ranked No.23 in 2003 and No.31 in 2002.
He went to the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. While attending California Institute of the Arts, he produced two animated films, both winners of the Student Academy Award for Animation, Lady and the Lamp in 1979 and Nitemare in 1980.
He was a member of the Computer Division of Lucasfilm Ltd. (which was later sold and became Pixar), where he designed and animated the computer-generated Stained Glass Knight character in the Steven Spielberg-produced film Young Sherlock Holmes (1985). He's also a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Short Films and Feature Animation Branch).
In 2004, he was honored by the Art Directors Guild with its prestigious "Outstanding Contribution To Cinematic Imagery" award, and received an honorary degree from the American Film Institute.
He is also very involved with Hayao Miyazaki as he is a close personal friend of his. John Lasseter actually introduced the DVD release of Hayao Miyazaki's Tenkû, Castle in the Sky, which is actually one of his favorite films. He also organised the English version of some of his films including Spirited Away.
